Collecting Used Computers for Charity

3/4/2008

Dale Campbell who lives at 759 SW Pebble Lane has graciously volunteered to collect your old computers for donation to a charity. Please contact him at 283-8796 or [email protected].

Information about the charity is below:

The Treasure Coast Chapter of SCORE (Counselors to Americas Small Business) www.score308.com is a 501-c-3 non-profit association. Donated and used computers are cleaned out of hard drive data and refurbished for use, either for their offices or for the Sheriffs Youth camp, who uses them for teaching kids how to build and repair computers. In some cases, they donate to local churches for use by Seniors who do not have computers. Very old machines can be cannibalized for parts. Widows 98 operating systems and later are preferred. Donations are tax deductible and receipts are given.

This is an easy way to help others, obtain a tax deduction for yourself, and recycle rather than contributing unnecessarily to our landfills.

Thank you, Dale.

Volunteers are still needed to collect old eyeglasses, cell phones, and magazines.
