I'm happy to report that the local real estate market has been very strong and we expect it to continue to rebound at a brisk pace over the next several months. It certainly has been a bumpy road with many starts and stops as COVID hot spots are popping up throughout the state. Yet sales in Palm Cove and all around Martin County remain impressive and interest in our beautiful community is at an all time high!
Recent data shows the housing market will continue to warm up as economies reopen and more buyers return to the streets. Newly pending sales in Martin County for May 2020 were up 21.8% and the average sale price was up 9.4% from May 2019.
In addition, home sales have sped up, with properties selling at the fastest pace in more than two years. One of the biggest improvements is days on market—homes are currently selling three days faster on average according to Zillow's monthly market report. Economists predict pending sales volume hit bottom in April, forecasting almost-full recovery by end of year. With all of this positive economic news, it is easy to forget that the virus is still a threat to all of us! So be careful and stay safe.
